How to automatically accept EULA using SCCM deployment

$

0

I am trying to deploy Adobe Reader XI to our Windows 10 computers using SCCM 2016. I am using the following command in my package

"AcroRdrDC1801120035_en_US.exe" EULA_ACCEPT=YES /qn and while the deployment works and installs Reader, the EULA acceptance doesn't. While

it's only a minor inconvenience, we don't want our users to have to accept the agreement, especially if there is a way to automatically accept it. Can someone please

help me? thanks

Update 19.012.20034 already installed

I subscribe to Acrobat DC as part of enterprise subscription (Illustrator and Photoshop too).

Updates to Illustrator and Photoshop are pushed through the creative cloud, but I never receive Acrobat updates through cloud. A system admin has to install every time when I prompted through system tray notice. Now system tray notice is telling me to install an update that is already installed (19.012.20034). What's up with that.

I am convinced this is due to previous installation of stand-alone Acrobat Pro installation on the same machine, which was uninstalled prior to installing subscription Arcobat DC.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated so I don't have to call IT every time Acrobat needs to be updated and I can use cloud for updates just like my photoshop and illustrator subscriptions. Also, need help getting rid of annoyances to install updates that are already installed.

Why is Adobe Acrobat DC Installer not detecting VC++ 2013 x64?

$

Attempting to install the application via MSI was quitting immediately when ran silently. I removed the silent flag to see that the installer was complaining about not detecting VC++ 2013 x64 on my machine.

I checked and I have the latest version installed already (12.0.40660). I've attempted to uninstall/reinstall the VC++ 2013 x64 package as well as run the repair portion, but Acrobat still cannot detect it.

Any thoughts?

Need to disable update notifications for reader and flash player

Hopefully I'm asking this question in the right place.   Please direct me if I'm not.

Due to some issues with alot of our applications that are web-enabled and rely in IE.  When are 1500+ users get prompted to up date reader or flash player they do not understand to turn off the 'optional' check mark to download and install chrome.

This cause multiple helpdesk calls as their web-enabled apps do not work correctly in chrome.

We had found documention: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83709/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Updater.pdf

to disable the update notifications, however  checking both xp and win7 machines, the key mentioned on page 16  of the pdf mentioned above, did not exist in HKLM, but did find it in HKCU.   Tried to create the iCheck and iCheckReader in both places but not sure if they are actually working.

Here is our actual goal:  We just don't want users prompted to update reader or flash player because of the chrome install.   We don't want reader or flash to update 'automatically'; We still want the ability to update it manually.

How can we turn off any auto update functionality, and prompting of updates so users never see them in both apps?

We currently have users with reader, 8, 9 and 10.

if you can provide documentation, detailed steps, registry keys, etc.  I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Chad

Reader DC Appv Package crash.

Hello,

I'm trying to sequence Acrobat Reader DC with AppV 5.1
I followed the deploiment guide : https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/VirtualizationGuide/appvreaderDC.html

Everything seems to works well, I put my package on my app-v server, publish it in global mode and when I try to open the app : it keeps crashing.

I found some tips on technet forum asking to disable arm service (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/f4358ecb-72ad-4cfa-9498-8d7009db 3d7b/error-when-starting-adobe-reader-11-appv-package?forum=mdopappv ) but I got the same issue.

After checking the Event log I don't understand how to fix the issue (error log at the end of the post)

Anyone got some idea ?

Thanks,
Nicolas.

How do I disable the Adobe ID login popup

Hi,

Im installing Acrobat Standard DC in our Citrix environment. I managed to create a prov.xml file and thats placed on the imaged server.

Everythign seems to work fine, except for one thing. We dont want our employees connecting to Cloud solutions and Sharepoint I disabled all these setting with Registry settings.

These options are no longer available on the start screen, and in any of the menus.

After about 30 second of having Acrobat open Im getting a "sign in with your Adobe ID" popup, which is driving me nuts.

Is there any possibillity to disable that splash screen?

Ive found a solution here:

Disable Adobe Sign-in - Acrobat DC - Super User

but since we dont use packaging for installing, this isnt a viable solution for me.

Updating/Removing Reader DC

$

Hi all!

We've recently started using Manage Engine as a replacement to WSUS for Windows and 3rd party patches.

One particular patch that we can't install is a critical one for Adobe Reader DC.

We get something along the lines of "Error 1328. Error apply patch to file ****. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your software vendor."

Ok - so it needs to be installed and updated via the same method - Manage Engine.

So, rather than manually uninstall on 700+ PCs, I attempted to utilize Manage Engine to uninstall from just my PC as a test and got:

"The file system does not support atomic changes to the lock type"

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

How to remove "add account" in Reader DC

$

I am testing new package deployments of Adobe Reader DC prior to releasing it.

I have used the customization tool for Adobe Reader DC to create a MST file so its a tailored install. The only thing it seems is, I can not alter or remove is the "add account" for Microsoft Share-Point.

At this time our organization does not have Share-Point and possibly not anytime soon.

How can I remove/disable that option? I would rather not spend the administrative overhead on training end user to ignore that it exists.

Pushing out Updates for Adobe Reader Products via MDM

$

Hi all,

We are running Microsoft Intune as an MDM and we are managing a couple of hundred Windows 10 devices with it. Users do not have local administrator access, so cannot install updates themselves.

We are able to deploy the base versions of Adobe Reader (11.0.0 or 10.0.0) without any issues (by uploading the MSIs to Intune and deploying that way), however because of the way the updates are packaged (as an MSI that calls an MSP file) we are not able to push out these updates - Intune does not support EXE or MSP files.

I would appreciate any assistance you can provide with this, due to the distribution of our users (international) we are not able deploy this from a common network location, and from what I have seen Intune does not support this in any case.

Thanks in advance

Harison

Hi, I need a definitive list of urls and ports necessary to be open for DC to talk behind corporate firewall and web proxy

$

My company uses a web proxy and firewall. There is a ton of documentation for creative cloud products and making them work by whitelisting urls for a web proxy, but I cant seem to find a definitive list for DC/Acrobat. The closest thing I could find is this, from this link.

Introduction — Enterprise Administration Guide

May 10, 2016http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/index.html#may-10-2016

The following list contains changes to the enterprise-related features and documentation:

  • Support for VMware Horizon server for streaming to Windows machines via VDI.
  • Added this enterprise-specific What’s New section.
  • Added virtualization overview section with licensing support details.
  • Added SWID collection scripts.
  • Added GUID definitions for DC.
  • Added new network endpoint details:
    • ardownload.adobe.com
    • armmf.adobe.com
    • trustlist.adobe.com
    • crl.adobe.com/cds.crl
    • ans.oobesaas.adobe.com/ans/v1/sms
    • armmf.adobe.com/onboarding/smskill.txt

We are not deploying this software via management tools, we are sending users the invite email and installing from the links included. We were able to get CC to talk through our network, but Acrobat DC still hangs during installation and calls an http error.

Adobe Reader X - Disable "Display PDF in Browser" via Registry

$

I'm trying to configure my organization's Windows workstations so that web-based PDF files open in Adobe Reader rather than in internet browsers. I have been able to configure Adobe Reader 9 installations to open web-based PDF files in Reader rather than internet browsers by using the following registry setting:

HiveHKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key pathSoftware\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Originals
Value namebBrowserIntegration
Value typeREG_DWORD
Value data0x0 (0)

My problem lies with Adobe Reader X: I used the following settings in attempting to prevent Adobe Reader X installations from opening web-based PDFs in internet browsers:

HiveHKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key pathSoftware\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Originals
Value namebBrowserIntegration
Value typeREG_DWORD
Value data0x0 (0)

HiveHKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key pathSoftware\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Originals
Value namebAllowByteRangeRequests
Value typeREG_DWORD
Value data0x0 (0)

HiveHKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key pathSoftware\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\AVGeneral
Value namebBrowserDisplayInReadMode
Value typeREG_DWORD
Value data0x0 (0)

I've only had partial success, though. Internet Explorer respects the registry settings and opens web-based PDFs in Reader X. Firefox 14.0.1, though, ignores the registry settings and opens web-based PDFs in Firefox.

Is there a different registry setting I should be using so that Firefox sees "Display PDF in Browser" unchecked and allows web-based PDFs to be opened in Reader X? Is there another method I should be following for deploying this setting to Adobe Reader X clients?

What are the current SCUP catalog urls for Reader DC /10/11 and Adobe Acrobat?

Dear all,

I have trouble publishing updates with SCUP right now. Catalog for Adobe flash player works fine, but all reader and Adobe Acrobat catalogs seem to wrong.

As advised on this website SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide  I used the catalog adress http://armmf.adobe.com/manifest/arm-manifests/win/SCUP/AcrobatCatalog-2015.cab  for publishing the Reader DC.

Import works, but when trying to publish I get the following error in MS SCUP:

PublishItem: Download Content: Failed to download file 'http://armdl.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/Acrobat2015/1500630243/Acrobat2015Upd15006302 43.msp'.

What's the correct catalog adress for Reader DC/10/11 and Adobe Acrobat 10 and 11?

Thanks a lot!

adobe dc pro install patch update to customized install

We are using a stand alone version of Adobe DC Pro (15.006.30033.2205) (no other Adobe products).  Windows 7 32-bit environment.  I have used the Adobe customization tool to create a custom install package.  I now need to update this package with the latest patch from Adobe to correct a recent security patch.

Ideally I'd like to make a new customized installer package as this allows us to disable the Adobe Sign-In feature, which our agency will never use.

I am trying to use:  msiexec /i acropro.msi PATCH="Acrobat2015Upd1500630280.msp" TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst"

The .mst file was created by the customization tool.  However, when I run this command, I get the error:

"This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

I have attempted uninstall and reboot and cleaning the registry of previous installation of Adobe DC Pro without any luck.

Can someone provide guidance on how to create a new customized install with the latest patch and still have the Adobe Sign-In option disabled?

Creative Cloud on VDI for Acrobat Pro

I work in an enterprise environment where we have about 145 users with Adobe Acrobat. A large majority of these users are on Windows 7 32 bit Virtual Machines with 3 gb ram and 2 cpu cores. That would usually exceed the minimum system requirements for Adobe Acrobat. But the latest 2019 version of Adobe Acrobat DC comes with the Creative Cloud application which is causing a lot of performance issues when we tested it on a virtual machine. So my question is how can the users run acrobat without the creative cloud app?

Cannot ENABLE SharePoint Integration.

$

Our organization has a Sharepoint 2013 deployment and uses Acrobat Pro XI.  We use document libraries with with check in/check out and verioning enabled.  When opening a PDF from within a library, the document opens in Acrobat without issue but we do not receive any prompts to check the document out.  This prevents us even from manually checking out the document in sharepoint, opening the document, saving the document back to sharepoint because Acrobat tries to save it to a local AppData Temp directory.   I've seen a thousand answered posts about how to DISABLE SharePoint integration, but I'm just looking to get this functionality in the first place.  The problem could be related to a SharePoint setting but I cannot cind such a setting.  Our office documents prompt for checkout when opened as they should - Just not PDFs.

***Some additional information:  From Acrobat, if I click  File>Open, then select "open from online account"  and connect to my sharepoint server I can check in and out, but some of our libraries are over 9GB and cause Acrobat to crash every time I try to open the library, so this is apparently not an option for us (although it would be nice!!!).

Thanks!

start installation with setup.exe and transform mst file

Hello

I'll install Acrobat Pro 2017 with an mst File over setup.exe and not over msi File. Should be possible:

See this information here: Installation options — Acrobat Customization Wizard DC for Windows

Remove all versions of Reader: Removes old versions of Reader currently installed on the destination system and sets the REMOVE_PREVIOUS_READER property. The property can be used in tandem with REMOVE_PREVIOUS when earlier versions of both Acrobat and Reader need to be removed as part of a new Acrobat install. Note: If the installed Reader is lower than DC product install (11.x or earlier), this option works for both setup.exe and .msi installs. However, if Reader DC is installed and should be removed, the install method requires the use of setup.exe during deployment.

Can anybody help me?

Why I ask this:

I'll deploy Acrobat Pro 2017 with an VMWare Mirage App Layer, and in the Base Layer there is already the Reader installed.

Unmatched exit code (1603) is considered an execution failure when i deploy from SCCM 2012 R2

I am trying to deploy the Adobe Acrobat XI through SCCM 2012 R2. I have customized the package with Adobe Customization Wizard XI according to our requirement. In deployment package i am using msiexec /i AcroPro.msi /qn TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst /L*V "%temp%\example.log" command but it gets failed on client machine. Since i am running the installation in verbose mode, here is log generated in example.log file.

When i run the same command manually on client machine from elevated command prompt then Adobe Pro get installed successfully. This is what confusing me why it is not installing from SCCM. I am using Domain Admin account in SCCM for deployment so user account privileges should not be an issue.
