Adobe Reader DC - ADelRCP.exe prompts for admin rights

$

I've deployed Adobe Reader DC using the msi and transform created with the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC.

It install fine but when users first run Reader they are prompted for an administrator credentials because the program C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\ADelRCP.exe is trying to run.

Our users do have local admin rights.  How do I prevent this popup occuring on Reader startup and what does this ADelRCP.exe do?

Unable to make Acrobat X the default handler/opener of PDF files on a Windows 8 laptop with Acrobat Reader also installed.

I have a user with a Windows 8 Sony Vaio laptop with Microsoft Office 2013 Professional, Acrobat X Standard, and Acrobat Reader installed. Another program on his system requires Acrobat Reader so we cannot just remove that and keep it off the system. Regardless of what he does to set the default program to open PDF files with, when he opens a PDF file it always opens it in Acrobat Reader and not Acrobat itself. We have re-associated it and set the default program handling repeatedly and have also tried complete uninstall and reinstall of both Acrobat and Acrobat Reader which had no effect on this. At this point I am of the opinion that this is a bug and the file association is being overridden somewhere in the registry besides the file association entries. Any help is appreciated.

Adobe Acrobat PRO DC, msi installer needed for MS Software Installation Group Policy

Is there a way to create a Adobe Acrobat Pro DC package in a .msi format, with the license key information already patched? We use Microsoft Windows Server Group Policy ( Software Installation) to deploy all of our software, and it only runs MSI installer package. With our current setup, we are unable to create logon script to run any .bat or .exe file, so running the License file (AdobeSerialzation.exe) post install, is not an option for us. Unless we manually run it on all of our workstations individually, which is what we would like to avoid.

I have tried to use the Adobe Customization Wizard DC to edit the msi file with the "exception" folder, I was able to find the box for "serial number". But I do no have access to a serial number, the only thing I could access, is a pre-created Licensed File, or the Installation package ( for individual install) that patch the software with the License info automatically. But it does not help us with an Enterprise deploy setup.

Please help.

Able to get Intune MAM working on Adobe Reader for Intune?

Currently using Intune standalone with MAM policies applied, to not allow data transfer between non-Intune enrolled devices with Intune enrolled devices, the Adobe Reader for Intune app is unable to open a PDF attachment from the Outlook App due to the policy. I was told by Microsoft that the SDK has not been updated and this is the reason why the Reader app is not working. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone else got this to work?

Hello,

I am having difficulties with Acrobat Pro DC. I need to be able to access the toolbar that appears when clicking the "Send for Comments" tool. At the moment, I do not have the toolbar nor do I have the Send for comments tool, but instead have only "send for review". My coworker is able to bring the toolbar up with no problems. He is running version 2018.009.20050. Below is the tool that he has but I do not as well as the toolbar that I cannot get to:

Below is what I have access to:

Sign In Required when using Classic/2015 installer

I'm trying to deploy Acrobat Standard DC.

I logged into the licensing site and downloaded Acrobat_2015_Web_WWMUI.exe (description: Acrobat DC2015 12.0 WIN ESD ALL CLASSIC )

I downloaded the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC

I wrote down the serial number from the licensing website for Acrobat 12.0 Universal English Windows LIC SN

In the CustWiz "Personalization Options" I entered the serial number (copied & pasted to make sure there were no transposition errors)

In the CustWiz "Online services and features" I checked Disable Product Updates, Disable Upsell and Disable all services

I saved the package, which created AcroPro.mst

I also did transform>generate transform and called it myInstall.mst

I've then deployed acropro.msi with TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst" (and also tried with MyInstall.mst) and it successfully installs the program.

I double-checked that the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 2015\ which signifies the Classic track installer

When I try to launch Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm prompted that Sign In is Required...

According to the ETK Pre-deployment planning, granting usage rights section, it says that "Admin pre-activates for all users"

Does that mean entering the serial number in the Customization Wizard (which I've already done) or is there some other thing I have to do to activate that license/serial number so that I can avoid this whole sign-in thing and run Acrobat DC just like we have in the past?

Adobe Customization Wizard Error code 14

I'm trying to build an Adobe Acrobat package following the instructions from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-it-tips-tricks-tutorials/customization-wizard-xi-for-mac -os-x/.  When I try to create the final package the Wizard errors out showing a code 14.  I looked that up and got this: The APTEE tool called from within returned an error. See /tmp/oobelib.log for details. I'm attaching the logs because I cannot figure out why the package is not being created. I can't figure out why the serial number is not being validated.

Convert C4 files to PDF?

Is there an Adobe product that can convert C4, JEDMICS or CALS files to PDF?  The C4 files are blueprints so I need to be able to zoom and manipulate the image without distorting it.  I tried printing the image directly from the C4 file and save to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC but it didn't work.  When I zoomed in on the image it distorted it.

Acrobat Pro DC 15.006 will not read smart card

Hello family!

I am having a major issue with our Adobe Acrobat Pro DC! We are unable to sign any documents with our smart card. It does not recognize that there is a smart card plugged in at all. I have tried the trusted certificates, i have attempted to remove security (it's greyed out due to policy). We just got on windows 1709 win10 image and are struggling to get this resolved.

Here is the error:

The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

Error Code:31

We have tried several smart card readers, tried changing the certs. Nothing is working. I did notice that the certificate I normally use has a yellow exlamation mark but even when selecting a good certificate and go to sign the document it does not see any cards in the reader.

Thoughts?

Acrobat DC Enterprise Licensing on provisioned Citrix Terminal Server does not work

Hello,

we are trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC on a provisioned Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Farm.

Installation has been customized using the customization wizard. As described here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html

The Installation is working on the Server where the installation originally has been made. User don't get any Online Dialoges Product is activated correctly.

Since this farm is provisioned as described here:

Capture.PNG

New Server with different Hostnames start from the same Disk.

If users log on to this new Server and start Adobe Acrobat they are presented with a Dialog to Log In as if the application has not been customized or activated.

How can this Problem be resolved? Has someone encountered the same problem or even found a working solution?

Many Thanks for your support in advance

S.Moser

AUSST not downloading Acrobat DC internally

$

Hi All,

Recently, instead of any download & installation of Acrobat DC going via our local product repository set up as part of our AUSST deployment, it attempts to go externally to download from the Adobe servers (blocked by our proxy by default). All other products such as, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc. all download as they should from our internal repo.

We've completed a fresh synchronisation twice now - to no avail. It is only the Acrobat DC product which is affected.

Any way to get all download requests to reach our internal services like all our other products?

Thanks in advance,

JT

Update Acrobat Reader 11.0.0 to Version 2018.011.20055

Dear members,

I would like to update the adobe reader in our company environment from version 11.0.0 to version 2018.011.20055. Since we want to distribute the software via SCCM, I have to build a package for it. I have already submitted an inquiry to Adobe to get the update version. All the updates I got from adobe do not work on our systems. I constantly get the error message that the upgrade patch is not suitable or that something is missing to install this patch.
Since I somehow need the latest update on my clients, I have downloaded an offline installer from the Internet and didnt get any Errors by updating the Adobe Reader DC 2018.011.20055. Problem here, however, is that the updated adobe only has the languages German and English available. However, we need all the languages Adobe has available as we are a global company. Can someone help me find the right installation resources or language pack resources?

-We are using Windows 7/10 in our Environment.

Thank you very much and best regards!

Switch default PDF reader to DC from Acrobat pro, via registry, W7 & W10 ?

$

I am trying to determine who *really* uses Acrobat Pro (licensing wise) and would like to force a default association of PDF files with Reader DC instead, as a way to let our environment tools (bigfix, SCCM) determine who really fires up Pro for its features and therefore really needs it (otherwise once pro is associated with PDFs it will always preempt reader and open it first, which gives us false positives on actual usage of Pro).

I know the manual ways to do file associations, possibly GPOs, but we would prefer a registry key we can push more controllably if possible... If there a key that lets you change default assignment of PDF files to open with Reader DC only (and remove Acrobat Pro as the default) - if there was we could push that to the entire environment group by group (better than GPO) which would be friendlier than uninstalling pro wholesale and see who really complains and needs it...

I looked at HKCU\SOftware\classes,  open with....

HKLM\Software \classes

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, open with

Deeper under HKLM under windows\current version\Explorer\fileext

In each case you see Reader and acrobat pro as options a or b, and a key that reads "ab" or "ba" or whatever presumably to affect order...

But I played with all those, restarted explorer, and got occasional success on Win10 but never on Win7. Looks like file associations were system based in 7 and are user based in W10, which makes it really hard...  Is this doable at all via registry ?

Or is there a simpler way, like reinstalling reader DC and forcing it to grab associations ? Just want something I can deploy to thousands of PCs and not have to ask users to repick..

Problem with adding IdP certificate with Acrobat

Hello

Maybe someone in here can assist me. So i am trying to get Single Sign On to work for our organization.

When in the configure directory section i follow the sets provided to copy the cert we use for our AD FS and when i click save i get an error saying

"There was a problem saving your configuration - check the values you entered and make sure you are uploading a valid (PEM base64-encoded X.509) certificate."

I did save the cert as a base64-encoded x.509 cert too from the FS server.

Is there anything else i could try or any other work around for this anyone might know?

Thank you

Where is the full package offline installer so I can test deployment of Acrobat Pro DC subscription?

2 hours so far.... 2 hours and still no install files to determine if this software is even fit for our purpose.

Honestly, How hard is it to get access to the offline installation media?

Its trial software... it stops working after 7 days!

If its THIS much hassle, just to get to see if the trial software even works... what is going to be like once we've paid our money?

In the 2 hours I've been chasing support (who happily dodge the question or require me to interact with the "Specialist Deployment Team"), I've downloaded AND installed 3 other vendors PDF software from full package installers.

Can you guess where Acrobat is coming in the list for our software & deployment evaluation...

We are unable to download the latest patch for reader that was released yesterday. The FTP site appears to be down. Anyone else having trouble?

We received the announcement Adobe Security Bulletin  and I do what I always do but the site looks down. The direct links in the bulletin are only for Acrobat DC and not reader.

We would like to update Adobe Reader DC to the latest version via msp files via SCCM. Is there an easy way to deploy the msp updates via SCCM? What is the best practice for these updates deployments? What is the best way to install Adobe reader DC and its updates during OS deployment - software disstribution?
