Is there any solution to this problem?

I use Windows 7 with adobe acrobat X and Sharepoint 2013, on the clients and when I try to open an Adobe document, from a document library in Sharepoint 2013, I get the above error.

From looking at the forum, this appears to being discussed, for quite a while, at this stage.

I would appreciate if someone could assist, with this.

Could it be a user-permissions problem?

I have a feeling, that is an adminstrator account is being used, on the client, they can open the document.

I will verify this, in the next while, just in case.

Adobe Customization Wizard Error code 14

I'm trying to build an Adobe Acrobat package following the instructions from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-it-tips-tricks-tutorials/customization-wizard-xi-for-mac -os-x/.  When I try to create the final package the Wizard errors out showing a code 14.  I looked that up and got this: The APTEE tool called from within returned an error. See /tmp/oobelib.log for details. I'm attaching the logs because I cannot figure out why the package is not being created. I can't figure out why the serial number is not being validated.

Citrix environment - licensing of Acrobat Pro 2017

Dear ladiens and gentleman,

i have a questions which the support could not answer.

We have a citrix environment with a couple of hundred users. We want to have 4 users using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. (We bought the licenses)

Issue is the following:

In citrix once installed all the users will have adobe acrobat pro 2017 available on their citrix desktops.

How do we manage that only for the 4 users (each have their own license) citrix is available and for all other it is "disabled".

I know that for other software there are admx templates where u can disable the program for some users and for some you can activate it and manage the keys also via the gpo or a template?

If someone has done something similar or is using admx templates (for win server 2016) please let me know.

Too bad that the official support was of no help.

Best Regards

Seb

Adobe FTP Link for Customization Wizard

Hi Everyone,

I've seen threads on here for other people that are having this issue, but can't find anything current so I guess I have to ask. Is the FTP site still active for downloading the Adobe Customization Wizard? Every time I try to get to it I just get the Google Sad Face: I also get similar messages in other browsers.

One post did mention that the site needed to be accessed via an FTP client. That also resulted in a failure. Clonezilla returned the message: "Error: Could not connect to server"

One thing that also does happen is I get asked for a credential login (makes sense, it is FTP after all). However, Adobe doesn't mention needing any credentials on the Customization Wizard documentation. Are there credentials that need to be entered? Or, better yet, does Adobe have a link where this can be directly downloaded?

Thanks all for any help!

The following error is produced in Acrobat when trying to click version history documents in SharePoint 2010. "The URL you have provided could not be reached. Please verify that the URL is correct and that the network location is reachable." The revision of the document is reachable, but through typical HTTP via a web browser...but not through the SharePoint <==> Acrobat X Pro COM object magic that works fine for currently checked out documents. Please see inserted image. Thoughts on a fix?

Acrobat 2017 Pro on Server 2016 RDS - Outlook 2016 uses Adobe Acrobat to Quick Print instead of Reader

$

We have a client that has Acrobat 2017 Pro installed on their Windows Server 2016 RDS environment. Only certain users are licensed and the rest are locked out of using Acrobat via permissions. All users have access to Adobe Reader.

Outlook 2016 launches Adobe Acrobat when the Quick Print feature is used on a PDF attachment. As some users do not have permission to Acrobat this fails. This was working before Acrobat was installed by using Reader.

We have ensured all users receive Adobe Reader for all of their defaults and even reinstalled Reader after Acrobat to ensure the Active X Preview feature in Outlook used Reader (it defaults to the last installed PDF viewing application).

How can we change this so that Reader is used for the Quick Print feature - surely there are many Terminal Server environments that require Acrobat be installed and locked down to specific users and have found a way around this?

Reader DC - Update Error 100600

Hello,

we're deploying Adobe Reader DC though GPO (MSI form AIP).

Until now updates was disabled, now I want to enable continouus updates.

I set the necessary registry keys to enable it but updates fail stating Error 100600 "updates have been disabled by your system policy".

How ever, this occur even on a manual installation without any mst or other restrictions. Just double clicking the MSI and go through the installation.

Updates are successfull if I install from exe.

Is it possible to do an initial installation through GPO and then continue with automatic updates?

Regards,

Hermann

Installing Pro DC and DC Reader - Make Reader default Viewer for all users

VMWare Horizon Environment - Cloned Desktops created from Golden Image.

Adobe DC Pro and Reader installed in to the Image.

Adobe DC Pro installed for named users but not run using this:

  1. Log in to master image.
  2. (Optional) Customize the installer with the Customization Wizard.
  3. Install Acrobat on the master image with the following command:

Setup.exe  /sALL/msiROAMIDENTITY=1ROAMLICENSING=

  1. hut down the master image.
  2. Take a snapshot of the master image.
  3. Update all VM desktops using the captured snapshot.

Problem - PDF Viewer defaults changed to PRO for all users. What do I need to change when creating to keep users default to Adobe Reader? (or whatever PDF viewer the user currently has). Using PRO is an issue as only 20 of our 300 users actually have a named user license available to use.

adobe reader dc - remove form field highlight

I've seen some posts discussing removing the form field highlight individually.  What I need is to be able to apply this specific change to a number of XenApp servers so it has to apply to anyone that logs in without that user needing to do anything special.

Is there a config file we can add or a registry key/value we can create/add?

Thanks.

Acrobat Pro DC 15.006 will not read smart card

Hello family!

I am having a major issue with our Adobe Acrobat Pro DC! We are unable to sign any documents with our smart card. It does not recognize that there is a smart card plugged in at all. I have tried the trusted certificates, i have attempted to remove security (it's greyed out due to policy). We just got on windows 1709 win10 image and are struggling to get this resolved.

Here is the error:

The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

Error Code:31

We have tried several smart card readers, tried changing the certs. Nothing is working. I did notice that the certificate I normally use has a yellow exlamation mark but even when selecting a good certificate and go to sign the document it does not see any cards in the reader.

Thoughts?

Problem with adding IdP certificate with Acrobat

Hello

Maybe someone in here can assist me. So i am trying to get Single Sign On to work for our organization.

When in the configure directory section i follow the sets provided to copy the cert we use for our AD FS and when i click save i get an error saying

"There was a problem saving your configuration - check the values you entered and make sure you are uploading a valid (PEM base64-encoded X.509) certificate."

I did save the cert as a base64-encoded x.509 cert too from the FS server.

Is there anything else i could try or any other work around for this anyone might know?

Thank you

Adobe Acrobat XI Standard 11.0.10 silent install failing with error 1603

$

Hello

I just updated my AIPs for Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 Pro and Standard.  The Pro silent install is working fine.  But I cannot get the Standard install to run on Windows 7 or WIndows 8.   I have gone over every detail that I can think of or find on forums.

I use the Adobe Customization Wizard XI and choose the basic stuff to create my transform.  I don't generally enter a serial number in the customization setup but I tried that and the installation did appear to complete successfully.  But when I tried to open Acrobat it did not work.  Processes like PDapp.exe where running in a loop but never stopped.   Without a serial I get the errors below and the install fails almost immediately.   I have recreated the API and transform a few times hoping it would help.

Installing with the following line msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroStan.msi" TRANSFORMS=AcroStan.mst /qb /L*v c:\acrobat.log I get an error message that just says "error".

Application Event logs

Product: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard --  error.

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard. Product Version: 11.0.10. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems. Installation success or error status: 1603.

When I run the AcroStan.msi by itself the installation completes successfully so it would appear the issue is in customization process or the .mst file.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi does anyone know how I can disable protected mode at startup in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC either using the customization wizard or using the registry? I have found articles for version XI and version 10 but not sure if these will work with DC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Installing Acrobat through ConnectWise LabTech Script

$

I have 14 computers that need Acrobat Reader installed and I was trying to do it via a script through our LabTech software using shell commands.

while the commands do run on their own directly from the workstations (i have a separate workstation that i have been using to test my scripts) I cant seem to get them to work through LabTech. I have reached out to Labtech and am still waiting to hear from them and I have tried to call Adobe but they do not provide phone support for Reader. I would like to know what I need to properly set up a script that I can input into LabTech and install Adobe Reader silently.

I need to know where I can change the serial number for Acrobat X after imaging PC's.

$

0

We order Dell computers with Acrobat X Std and Office 2010 pre-installed. We do not get media, but we do get the serial numbers on cards with each PC. We create an image of a PC the way we want it with our most commonly used programs, settings and customization. We use Windows 7 sysprep with a unattended.xml answer file and some scripts when we are done. When this is finished we image the machine and deploy it on others so everything starts with the same configuration. When the PC is freshly imaged all we have to do is name it (we use our asset tag) and join it to the domain. Then we go into appwiz.cpl (add/remove programs) and click on Microsoft Office 2010, then the change button then choose enter a product key. We enter the key from the card that shipped with the physical computer.

Now I don’t see a place to do this for Adobe. We are legit and pay extra per PC to Dell so we get the software license code on a card, as we do with Office. I just want to ensure that everything is kosher.

I know that sometimes after a PC is deployed, in a few days or weeks we may get a tech support call where the user has an Adobe Acrobat duplicate license detected screen. We remote on and just enter the new serial number from the proper key card we got from Dell. But I want to head this off at the pass here and ensure the licensing is working at deployment so we don’t have to take these calls a few days or weeks later.

Any idea where the change product key is? I tried the change function in appwiz.cpl but it looked like it would just take me to a reinstaller. It’s important that it does not mess with settings because I need one of our servers in the enhanced security trusted site area, as well as Topaz.GemPlus in our default signing, and a few other settings that carried over from us customizing it under the local Administrator and then setting the CopyProfile=True flag in unattended.xml answer file prior to sysprep.

Adobe Acro Cleaner DC 2015 Uninstall Error Code -1073740940 Failed to Uninstall on Windows 10 1803

Trying to push an Uninstall script to our Windows 10 clients.  We are pushing AdobeAcroCleaner_DC2015.exe /silent /product=1 /cleanlevel=0 via SCCM to our clients running Windows 10 1803 and it is failing on 90% of them.  This is failing for both Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015 and 2018.

Also when digging through C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\RaftLogs we are seeing the below:

  2018-10-18.png

We have not had any of these issues pushing to our Windows 7 clients.

The entire reason we are forcing an uninstall is because our end users are seeing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015 and 2018 hang and not allow them to open PDFs until the AcroRd32.exe process(s) are killed in the task manager manually.  We have never had this problem until we started rolling out Windows 10.

The only fix we found was to disable "Enable Protected Mode at startup" which is not an ideal fix.
