11.0.2 MSI not installing properly

$

So I have downloaded the most recent version of Adobe Reader 11.0.2. I extraced the contents and edited the MSI using the Adobe Customization Wizard.

My issue is this. When I install using the command msiexec /i file.msi TRANSFORMS=file.mst /qn It will install Adobe Reader 11.0.0 with all of the customizations that were created in the .mst file. Why is it not installing 11.0.2? If I run the .exe file it installs 11.0.2 but if I run the .msi file it only installs version 11.0.0. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Trying to install Adobe Pro DC on our workstations but we use AppLocker for security.

Has anyone been able to successfully add the correct .dll and .exe files into AppLocker Allow so that standard users can run Adobe Pro DC.

Cheers.

Convert C4 files to PDF?

Is there an Adobe product that can convert C4, JEDMICS or CALS files to PDF?  The C4 files are blueprints so I need to be able to zoom and manipulate the image without distorting it.  I tried printing the image directly from the C4 file and save to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC but it didn't work.  When I zoomed in on the image it distorted it.

What are the current SCUP catalog urls for Reader DC /10/11 and Adobe Acrobat?

Dear all,

I have trouble publishing updates with SCUP right now. Catalog for Adobe flash player works fine, but all reader and Adobe Acrobat catalogs seem to wrong.

As advised on this website SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide  I used the catalog adress http://armmf.adobe.com/manifest/arm-manifests/win/SCUP/AcrobatCatalog-2015.cab  for publishing the Reader DC.

Import works, but when trying to publish I get the following error in MS SCUP:

PublishItem: Download Content: Failed to download file 'http://armdl.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/Acrobat2015/1500630243/Acrobat2015Upd15006302 43.msp'.

What's the correct catalog adress for Reader DC/10/11 and Adobe Acrobat 10 and 11?

Thanks a lot!

Deploying Adobe Acrobat Pro XI in a VDI environment

In our VDI environment (using VMware Horizon View 5.3), we are using a Windows 8.1 base image (Parent VM) with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on it (signed-in and registered). We then deploy new instances (Linked-Clones) of Windows 8.1

using this base. When userA logs into any desktops we have deployed from this Windows 8.1 base image, they get prompted to license the software: 1) Sign in and 2) Provide serial number.

Even though UserA licenses the software properly on DesktopA, they get prompted for the same licensing information on DesktopB and so on.

I have tried to virtualize the application using VMware View ThinApp. Same issue.

What is the proper way to distribute the application to multiple systems/users without running into this licensing loop?

I have read this post, but no luck: Packaging Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - Bug after installation

Thanks.

Where does the prov.xml go after it's created? Trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC on a Citrix Xenapp 6.5 provisioned image

We ran Acrobat DC in a trial which worked well so we bought licences.

Now we need to install Acrobat DC on our XenApp provisioned image. Where does the prov.xml file need to be located after it's generated by the tool?

I have run adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial="<ENTER SERIAL #HERE>" --leid="<ENTER LEID #HERE>" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress and adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=<ENTER PATH OF PROV.XML FILE> --stream.

Thanks in advance

Problems deploying Adobe Reader DC GPO

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy Adobe Reader DC thru GPO. I've downloaded the package, take the msi, include the updates and customizing the installation with Adobe Customization Wizzard DC. I put it on a GPO and it installs right the first time. If I remove Acrobat reader DC and install again, it will not be installed again on the next restart.

If I try to install old version to know if it does the installation right uninstalling previous versions, it uninstalls old version but not install new one.

Can you help me? It's something strange, we have another GPOs for another software and we have not this kind of prroblems.

Thanks in advance,

I ordered 4 licenses over the phone with Adobe in December.  I received an email with the 4 licenses/serial numbers in it.  I have downloaded 3 of the licenses.  The 4th license after downloading (when it decides to download) keeps asking for a sign in/log in.  We do not sign in to each Adobe download.  We should just be able to open Adobe and look at documents.  My IT company has tried several times to fix this.  Is it possible that the serial number I have is "bad"?  Do I need a new one?

hi Guys.

With regards to a Adobe Reader Corperate Distribution agreement and installing Adobe reader across the LAN.

According to the help files on the "multi language" Help part of the Reader DC Customization wizard it says that a "multi/all language  Serial number can be purchased" for MUI installs,

Does anyone know how much this is and where one can be purchased from ?

Thanks

Two bugs in Adobe Reader when adding hosts to trusted sites

$

I have tested this with 11.0.08 and 11.0.07 and the issue exists in both, I just wanted to note this so there wasn't an impression this was introduced with 11.0.08. Two bugs are below with details.

1. Adobe Reader does not seem to be recognizing trusted sites in Internet Explorer. Adobe Reader is still opening pdfs in the IE trusted sites in protected view. This is causing issues on websites that try to call pdf's to automatically print. I have ensured the "Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones" option is checked, however the trusted sites are never trusted. The only way I have been able to get protected view to be disabled on these sites is by manually adding them to the trusted hosts within Adobe which is not the behavior I would expect.

2. Adobe Reader will not let you add more than one trusted site if you delete the very first site from the trusted hosts before deleting the second one. Below are the steps to reproduce this.

  1. Add blah.com as a trusted host in the "Security (Enhanced)" settings. Click ok and close the program.
  2. Open Adobe Reader and add foo.com as a trusted host. Click ok and close the program.
  3. Open Adobe Reader, you should now see blah.com and foo.com as trusted hosts. Remove blah.com from trusted hosts. Click ok and close the program.
  4. Open Adobe Reader, add test.com to trusted hosts. Now you should see foo.com and test.com in the list. Click ok and close the program.
  5. Open Adobe Reader, navigate back to the "Security (Enhanced)" settings and you will see that for some reason foo.com was deleted and only test.com exists. Now if you add any more sites it will always only contain the last one you added.

Group Policy settings to control "Modern User Interface" for Digital Signing

$

Hey,

We've got an issue on a 2008 R2 terminal server where signing documents using Adobe Reader is causing app lockups.

I've found that disabling the "Modern User Interface" (in  Preferences > Signatures > Creation & Appearance (More…) ) fixes the issue - however I have been unable to find a way to control this via group policy. I've tried running registry / file monitoring software to find the appropriate key / place to control this from with no luck.

As per this blog post - Digital signatures simplified | Adobe Content Corner - it states this can be controlled via Group Policy.

-----

“From Preferences > Signatures > Creation & Appearance (More…) you can uncheck the “Use modern user interface…” option to turn off the new experience and return to the old one. This preference is active by default and can be controlled by means of Registry (Windows) and Plist (MacOS) preferences, so it is suitable for a custom configuration with automated deployments of Acrobat.”

-----

I have searched through the online guide in the enterprise toolkit (Acrobat Customization Wizard DC for Windows) and have not been able to locate the relevant registry key / setting to disable the “Use modern user interface for signing and Digital ID configuration”.

Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction on how to achieve this via group policy?

Thanks

Leigh

Trusted Certificate Pop-up in Reader XI

I deployed Adobe Reader XI for Windows7 with Group Policy and the Customization Wizard.

I notice an Adobe Reader Security pop up when I launch Reader.   Trusted certificates from your previous version of Adobe Reader were found.  Would you like to import them?...

Is there anything I can do to the trasform file to not display this message to my users?   Not sure if it matters if they Import or Use Default is selected.

Our eviroment will be mixed with Reader XI and Acrobat 9 and X.

Thanks!Adobe Reader Certs.JPG

Sign In Required when using Classic/2015 installer

$

I'm trying to deploy Acrobat Standard DC.

I logged into the licensing site and downloaded Acrobat_2015_Web_WWMUI.exe (description: Acrobat DC2015 12.0 WIN ESD ALL CLASSIC )

I downloaded the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC

I wrote down the serial number from the licensing website for Acrobat 12.0 Universal English Windows LIC SN

In the CustWiz "Personalization Options" I entered the serial number (copied & pasted to make sure there were no transposition errors)

In the CustWiz "Online services and features" I checked Disable Product Updates, Disable Upsell and Disable all services

I saved the package, which created AcroPro.mst

I also did transform>generate transform and called it myInstall.mst

I've then deployed acropro.msi with TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst" (and also tried with MyInstall.mst) and it successfully installs the program.

I double-checked that the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 2015\ which signifies the Classic track installer

When I try to launch Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm prompted that Sign In is Required...

According to the ETK Pre-deployment planning, granting usage rights section, it says that "Admin pre-activates for all users"

Does that mean entering the serial number in the Customization Wizard (which I've already done) or is there some other thing I have to do to activate that license/serial number so that I can avoid this whole sign-in thing and run Acrobat DC just like we have in the past?

MAM policy not working for the Adobe Acrobat for Intune on iOS

$

I'm using Intune for mobile management. Have defined a Mobile Application Management policy for both Android and iOS. Also just configured the new Adobe Acrobat for Intune, thinking that this version will support MAM policies on Intune (as has been announced). On Android Acrobat works OK, and I can define a MAM policy for the Android version, and it also works with other MAM controlled applications. For the iOS version of Adobe Acrobat for Intune I cannot define a MAM policy when deploying the app (as I can for the Android version), and the app does NOT work properly with other MAM controlled applications.

What is wrong? Does the iOS version NOT support MAM policies yet? If not, why, and when will it support them?

Cheers,

Kimmo

Acrobat XI Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime Missing

$

Hi Fellow Acrobat Fans!

I tried a couple test deployments of Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.03 by GPO.

It doesn't install on a couple desktops, just unistalls old versions of Acrobat X.  Only a generic error 1274, 2 and 1603 in the eventvwr's of the Windows 7 desktops.   When I try to manually launch the .MSI file I get: Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64) Runtime Missing.

After installing Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime manually on the desktops, the GPO works.  Not sure if this related or a fluke.

I didn't see anything mentioned in the Enterprise Admin Guide except the IGNOREVC10RT switch.   Have I missed something in the Customization Wizard??   What are you folks doing to avoid this problem?  Anyone have suggestions on how to deploy Visual C++ 2010 or  ignore it?

I didn't notice this issue with our Acrobat 9 or X GPOs.

Our fleet runs 32 bit MS Office and we do not use Outlook clients (migrated to GMail) so I don't think these 'application functionality' would be important anyways.

Thanks

Rice

How do I remove Lotus Notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?

$

How do I remove the lotus notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?  I originally deployed Adobe Acrobat 10 as a complete install to many computers.  I see how to remove this specific feature through the GUI in Windows 7 by going to control panel / programs and features / Adobe Acrobat X / change / modify / create adobe PDF / acrobat PDFMaker / Lotus Notes, but this would be a tedious task to do manually at each computer.  I've experimented with a few msiexec commands after removing Acrobat such as:

msiexec /i "\\path to msi" remove=pdfmakerforlotusnotes

&

msiexec /i "\\path to msi" disable_pdfmaker=yes

Both still install acrobat as a complete install.  Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!
