I'm installing adobe dc via .msi and trying to get the C++ 2013 to install with the installation. Even though I have set the settings in my setup.ini file, it doesn't seem to install the 2013 C++. Am I missing something?

Install Adobe updates via WSUS and ignore UAC restrictions

Hi

My company has currently set new UAC security settings but we have an issue where we are not able to update Adobe products because UAC stops it, UAC also does not prompt for elevation it just out right blocks updates.

We really need a way to either allow the updater to run/install past the UAC restrictions OR find a way to distribute adobe updates via WSUS if it's possible

Thanks

The SCCM SCUP catalogs are not available for the DC products. When can we expect to see them? Thanks.

What are the current SCUP catalog urls for Reader DC /10/11 and Adobe Acrobat?

Dear all,

I have trouble publishing updates with SCUP right now. Catalog for Adobe flash player works fine, but all reader and Adobe Acrobat catalogs seem to wrong.

As advised on this website SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide  I used the catalog adress http://armmf.adobe.com/manifest/arm-manifests/win/SCUP/AcrobatCatalog-2015.cab  for publishing the Reader DC.

Import works, but when trying to publish I get the following error in MS SCUP:

PublishItem: Download Content: Failed to download file 'http://armdl.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/Acrobat2015/1500630243/Acrobat2015Upd15006302 43.msp'.

What's the correct catalog adress for Reader DC/10/11 and Adobe Acrobat 10 and 11?

Thanks a lot!

Sebastian

Prevent Reader as default viewer...iewer

Is it possible to prevent Reader X from taking PDF Ownership from Third-Party Viewers?  We use multiple PDF products and I understand LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP and IW_DEFAULT_VERB control whether Acrobat or Reader is the default, however, there appears to not be an option if you would like "NEITHER" product to be the default.

Have already tried LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP at the cmdline and within an MST however Reader takes ownership of the PDF filetype.

Anyone successful?

No Adobe PDF add-on in IE 8/9 after deployment

I beg your pardon if this "after deployment" question is posted in the wrong forum.
I really need some help with this one.. What am I missing here?

In Acrobat Pro 11.0.01 you configure display PDF in browser (yes/no) by enabling or disabling a add-on in the browser. I want my end users to be able to select how they wish to view PDF:s. According to http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html there should be a add-on called "Adobe PDF Reader".

This add-on is missing on all my deployments so far!

For troubleshooting purposes I have replicated my problems when I install the product from original media without my transform and the results are the same. Am I missing some setting in the Customization Toolkit Wizard in order for the add-on to be installed properly?

On two completely clean and fully patched machines (XP x86 and Win 7 x64, english OS) I install Acrobat Pro 11.0 (english) and apply 11.0.01 patch.
In IE I select Tools -> Manage add-ons -> Show: All add-ons.

Adobe Acrobat Create PDF from Selection
Adobe Acrobat Create PDF Toolbar Helper
Adobe PDF Link Helper
Adobe Acrobat Create PDF Toolbar

There is no "Adobe PDF Reader", yet PDF:s are displayed in IE.

If I disable the four add-ons above, PDF is still displayed in IE.
If I launch IE in safe mode without add-ons ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  -extoff), PDF is still displayed in IE.
I terminate all visible Adobe processes (Acrotray, ARM for instance), PDF is still displayed inline in IE.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroPDF.dll is installed, if I rename this dll (using a SYSTEM account) PDF is displayed in Acrobat Pro XI.

How do I/end users control if PDF are to be displayed inline in IE or not *after deployment*??

(In Firefox everything works as expected and I can enable or disable the Adobe Acrobat plugin to control how PDF:s are displayed)

Adobe Flash Player message when trying to convert emails into a portfolio PDF within outlook.

We just had an initiative to get my peer group upgraded to Acrobat XI Pro, prior to that the team was using 9, 10 or 11.  I did all of the testing of the product features and put together some hints for the team.  It has come to my attention that when some (not all) try to convert emails in outlook to a pdf they get message that they need the latest version of flash player to run and are given the option to download it.

I work for a large company so everything gets certified and tested etc before it is ever allowed to be used enterprise wide.

Our help desk it not having any luck figuring out what the issue is so I thought I would look to this community.  I subscribe to Rick Borstein legal blog but cannot find a way to post the question to that group.

I use this feature to then run the portfolio filen of email and related attachments thru the Evermap AutoPortfolio Plug-in for Acrobat to flatten the PDF and convert attachment and solidify parent child relationships etc. .

Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Where to find the Acrobat DC Serial No?

$

Hi there

I'm now responsible for Adobe deployments. I'm given access to the dashboard http://aedash.adobe.com.

I think I quiet understand about classic and continuous track, about serialization and LEIDs. I successfully used the prtk tool to configure Acrobat Pro XI. Now I wanna prepare Acrobat Pro DC (2015 Classic) for Windows 10.

But where do I get the volume license key? Is it visible somewhere within the Enterprise Dashboard?

Do I need to find out who in our global company does have the license PDF or something?

Thanks

Acrobat Pro TLP prompts Adobe ID ?

Hi all,

I have deployed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (TLP license) on a master image RDSH2012R2 for Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Machine Creation Services using APTEE.

At first it looked ok as I received return code 0 both times using the adobe_prkt commands but users get prompted to sign in with an Adobe ID on the cloned RDSH.

First I used the Adobe customization wizard in which I supplied the serial key and activated the offline exception and registration.

Second I followed these steps outlined in Imaged OS deployments

  1. Generated the prov.xml on a internet connected server by using this command
    adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-6589 --leid=V7{}AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress --locales=nl_NL --provfilepath=C:\Deploy
  2. Ran the installation by using this command
    msiexec /i "\\server\deploy$\Adobe Acrobat Pro DC\unpacked\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi" TRANSFORMS="\\server\deploy$\Adobe Acrobat Pro DC\unpacked\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.mst" LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP=YES /qn
  3. Copied adobe_prtk.exe and generated prov.xml to master image
  4. Created the permanent permanent activation exception by runnning command
    adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=C:\CTX\Adobe\prov.xml --stream
  5. Started Adobe Acrobat Pro once on the master image
  6. Sealed and shut down the master image to deploy the snapshot

As I am a bit new to this kind of deployment I am trying to determine if I have done everything correctly

I have been over and over the documentation but I do not understand what it is I am missing as it does not work as it should.

I would appreciate if some one could review my steps/parameters/values and point out if I did something wrong.

Raymond

Problem with the Enterprise version of Adobe Reader 10.1.3

$

I tried deploying the 10.1.3 in the way I successfully deployed 1.1 and 1.2, but kept getting errors about a transform on install. I tried installing the patched MSI without any transforms, but still got the error. Then I tried running the download straight from the enterprise distribution link, but that didn't work either, even on a computer without Adobe Reader installed.

I think there might be something wrong with the enterprise distribution.

How do I disable USAGE INFORMATION in the .msi - READER DC

$

How do I disable USAGE INFORMATION in the .msi? I have used the Wizard to turn off all online services but after I install it its not there under Preferences. It somehow reappears after I launch Reader DC a few times, the USAGE INFORMATION returns. Anyone know how to remove this in the Wizard so that it doesn't report the usage back to Adobe? I want this featured to be turned off at the time of install and not have to change this setting after install.

Thanks!

How to remove "add account" in Reader DC

$

I am testing new package deployments of Adobe Reader DC prior to releasing it.

I have used the customization tool for Adobe Reader DC to create a MST file so its a tailored install. The only thing it seems is, I can not alter or remove is the "add account" for Microsoft Share-Point.

At this time our organization does not have Share-Point and possibly not anytime soon.

How can I remove/disable that option? I would rather not spend the administrative overhead on training end user to ignore that it exists.

Customization Wizard DC

Hi,

i have problems with the customization wizard DC. I try to deploy Adobe Acrobat Reader 2015 and Acrobat 2015 Pro (both classic track -> thatswhy 2015 is right, or?).

Because i did not find an CW for 2015 I used DC instead... maybe thats the problem - i dont know...

I try to set Security -> Protected View -> Files from potentially unsafe locations but i did not work neither with Reader nor Pro version, its always "off" after installation and opening the application as default user. Was not a problem when we customized version 11 with the CW for 11.

Because it was a recommendation i already uninstalled CW for 11 and try to edit/add some registry settings manually or with the CW is not the way it should be.

Anybody got a clue on that?

Thanks Sascha

Can I use the Acrobat DC Customizaton Wizard to cusotmize Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.17). I only see the older version and it seems a lot of changes have occurred since it was released.

We are trying to selective disable some of the Online features, pretty much everything excepting the SIGN feature.

We suspect the ONLINE feature  may be causing random hangs, however the registry key seems to only disable ALL of the online features, and not selectively.

The symptoms we have seen are random hangs. We are running on 11.0.17 of Acrobat XI.

The hangs actually happen when you start Acrobat Pro or Reader, click OPEN... and it hangs for about 2 or 3 minutes. Eventually it will bring up the OPEN FILE dialog.

One solution that seems to be a workaround is if we RESET the IE11 browser, the problem seems to disappear.

The other caveat is we are going through a proxy (Websense), but again in 98% of the cases it normally is not a problem.

Any advise or thoughts appreciated.
