Font Pack Acrobat Reader DC 2015 Windows - classic track

$

Hello,

we want to install Acrobat Reader DC 2015 (classic track) in our company.

In the past versions we always installed the asian font pack.

As I can see there is no font pack available für the classic track, just for the continuous Version

Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows

In the Enterprise Administration Guide it is mentioned, that the font and spelling packs are "bundled" in the classic track:

Document Cloud Product Tracks — Enterprise Administration Guide

What does this mean? Are the font and spelling packs included in the MUI installer since Acrobat Reader DC 2015?

How to Remove Register Your Product With Customization Wizard?

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to deploy Acrobat XI Pro with Group Policy to Windows 7 64 bit desktops on our domain.

It appears the GPO installed it on my test box but Acobat launches a 'Register Your Product' splash screen when it starts.   Have I missed something in the Adobe Customization Wizard XI?   I've entered the serial number and surpressed the EULA option.

Thanks

Silent Install of Acrobat Pro 11

Hey All,

I am using MDT to deploy Images and install apps.  I have packaged Acrobat Pro XI with the Customization Wizard XI and have used both  Unattended and Silent Install in the mst.

The below command starts the install but it is completely interactive except that my serial # and other settings are present so I know it is reading the mst.

command line:  msiexec /i AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst

adding  /qn  causes the install to fail w MDT error code 1603 - Fatal error during installation.

Any ides?

Thank You

Network error when PDF files been open from network share too long, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

$

I've got a strange problem with PDF files that are opened from a networkshare.

Recently we upgraded our Remote Desktop environment from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. Both the file servers and RDS host got ugpraded.

The problem is that when you have one or more PDF files open from a networkshare between 1-2 hours for editing, the pages becomes blank and you get the following errors

"There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document (109)."

"There was an error processing a page. A number is out of range."

"Insufficient data for an Image"

After that Adobe Acrobat crashes and you lose all the work.

The PDF files are different ones, some of them are scanned and some created.

I did a process monitor check while i had the problem and i can see the PDF files and the result "NETWORK ERROR"

It worked flawless in the old environment.

I logged on the old RDS 2008R2 opend the files from the new fileserver no problems.

On the new RDS 2012r2 i placed the files locally, no problem there either.

Installed a test server with RDS 2012R2 and disabled SMB 3.02 (this also disables SMB2.0 since they are using the same stack) now im running smb 1.5 and now i don't get the error.

The error seems to be related to SMB 3.02, it's not an option to run SMB 1.5 since we are using UserProfileDisks.

Anyone encountered the same problem or have any ideas or suggestions?

I was working on deploying Adobe Reader X and Adobe Acrobat X (Pro/Std) and there was a webiste that was provided by Adobe that gave all the registry keys nad what they did. It showed which ones were depreciated and a bunch of other useful items.

I also recall that I needed to install Adobe Air for this to function.

I had my machine rebuilt and cannot locate this Reference...

Does anyone know what I am referencing and where that location is again?

this was a great help and would like to use it again.

Thanks in advance...

Allow standalone Acrobat deployment with CCE serial"?

$

Hi

I'm trying to make an Acrobat DC deployment package. We are a CCE customer. I'm yet to have success with Acrobat DC deployments. They tend to work at first, then the prompt for sign-in comes back, or the product claims to not be activated. In any case, here are the steps I'm taking, please tell me whether or not it looks like I'm doing this right. And most of all, what I'm supposed to do with the checkbox that offers me to "allow standalone Acrobat deployment with CCE serial... This is new, and thus far, I have not been able to find any documentation that explains what it is. Not even the "Help" window that displays for each page addresses it. Questions are in bold.

  1. Make Acrobat DC package using CCP. I uncheck the "Creative Cloud Desktop Application", as this package should be strictly the latest version of Acrobat. Though, I do want admin users to be able to update their own software.
  2. I open Acrobat Customization Wizard DC and proceed to open C:\[path]\Acrobat Pro DC\Build\Setup\APRO15.0\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi. All defaults are left default unless noted in the following steps.
  3. Since this is a package made with CCP, I leave the serial number field blank.
    1. Personalization
      1. In this scenario (am a CCE customer, configuring a package to be deployed via SCCM) what should I do with "Allow standalone Acrobat deployment with CCE serial"?
      2. Check- Suppress display of EULA
    2. Installation Options
      1. Remove all versions of Reader
      2. Silently
      3. Suppress reboot
    3. Online Services and Features
      1. Check- Disable Upsell
      2. Check- Disable SignOut
      3. Check- Disable all services
    4. Save the package.
    5. Save the entire folder to the application share for SCCM
    6. Open SCCM > Software Library > Create Application
      1. Windows Installer (some things say to use the installer, other things say to use the MSI. Please explain!)
      2. Browse to location of AcroPro.msi
      3. Fill in Application details
      4. Installation program: msiexec /i "AcroPro.msi"  TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst /q
        1. Is this the right installation program? Should I change from msi to exe? Does the transform and /q switch look right?

So far, the application will deploy and install fine, but "Sign In Required" pops up immediately upon opening a PDF, which feels like neither the work pulling down the app from CCP, or switching the MST is making any difference. Also, I want to make this part of a OSD task sequence. What else do I need to do to this package in order for it to install as part of a task sequence, activated and not requiring sign in?

Thanks for your help!

MAM policy not working for the Adobe Acrobat for Intune on iOS

$

I'm using Intune for mobile management. Have defined a Mobile Application Management policy for both Android and iOS. Also just configured the new Adobe Acrobat for Intune, thinking that this version will support MAM policies on Intune (as has been announced). On Android Acrobat works OK, and I can define a MAM policy for the Android version, and it also works with other MAM controlled applications. For the iOS version of Adobe Acrobat for Intune I cannot define a MAM policy when deploying the app (as I can for the Android version), and the app does NOT work properly with other MAM controlled applications.

What is wrong? Does the iOS version NOT support MAM policies yet? If not, why, and when will it support them?

Cheers,

Kimmo

How do i stop the Sign in prompt for Acrobat pro DC 2015

We are just after updating from Acrobat 11 to Acrobat PRO DC. Ever since the upgrade users have been complaining that they are been prompted to sign into acrobat. I have read that by using the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" that you can remove this sign-on requirement.

However i am having a problem with getting the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" as we bought the licenses via a re-seller. I do not have access to the Adobe licensing portal to get the tool.

Is this the correct way to remove this sign on requirement and if so where can i get access to the provisioning toolkit?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Default Application - Dual Install of Adobe Pro Extended 9 & Adobe Reader XI

Hello,

<TL;DR> How can I set Adobe Pro Extended as the default .PDF handler with Adobe Reader XI present, in a TS/RDP environment. File Association & Default Application changes won't default to the version I want.</>

I have a terminal Server environment running Server 2012 R2.

I have a dual install of Adobe Pro Extended 9 & Adobe Reader XI (Adobe Pro Extended 9 alone works fine)

I have attempted various installations, no matter what order, toggles between install mode, no matter which application a repair is done to, once Reader XI is installed it becomes the default app.

I can't have it this way, the users are becoming annoyed.

Adobe Pro Extended 9 must be the default for all but 1 user, 1 poor receptionist who isn't doing what the rest of the staff do with Adobe Pro Extended.

They are why Reader XI is there, unfortunately.

I have:

- Right clicked a .PDF file, choosen Open with, told it to be default, even though I choose PRO, XI becomes default !

- In Control panel, default applications, Adobe XI is the only one in the list once it's installed. Even with Pro installed afterwards, XI remains alone.

- From the application it self, under Preferences>General> THERE IS NO BUTTON "Select Default PDF Handler".

Normally I would manually edit the registry, point to the right .EXE the but I'm not familiar with the strange voodoo Adobe does in there with PersistantHandlers.

ActiveX files deleted on reboot

I'm deploying Acrobat Reader DC 15.006.30201 via SCCM to about 7000 machines. Acrobat Reader is deployed successfully, the ActiveX files show up in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX but are gone after the first reboot. If I repair the installation, they come back. This happened with the last version as well. Once the installation is repaired, the issue does not return.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd be happy to share more info if you let me know what you need. Thanks!

For the past few years I have been using the enterprise licensing to deploy Flash, Acrobat etc. Well recently Adobe finally did away with their public download links. I have applied for the enterprise license like I do every year but I have not received a response from Adobe. It has been just over a month and computers are having issues due to not being updated.

I tried to contact support but support does not exist for this purpose. Can anyone think get ahold of support to push my case through??

Problem to deploy reader x and disable some options

$

Hello everybody,

I am trying to install (deploy) Acrobat Reader X (10.10) spanish version, but I have some problems, specificly with the options that can be disabled (Update, purchase, etc.) . I am following the guide from the Acrobat_Enterprise_Administration.pdf to, but I cant fix this.

My aplications installed

  • Adobe Customization Wizard X
  • Adobe Reader X 10.10 Spanish version (AdbeRdr1010_es_ES.exe)
  • Adobe update 10.13 MSP (AdbeRdrUpd1013.msp)

My Steps

  1. Descompress de AdbeRdr1010_es_ES.exe into public folder of my server ej: \\srvappz\acroreader\10.10Full
  2. from CMD launch msiexec -a \\srvappz\acroreader\10.10Full\acroread.msi and put the files in \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.10
  3. copy \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.10 to \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13 , in this last folder add the AdbeRdrUpd1013.msp file
  4. from cmd msiexec -a \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13\acroread.msi -t \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13\AdbeRdrUpd1013.msp for update
  5. copy setup.ini from \\srvappz\acroreader\10.10Full to \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13
  6. Open Adobe Customization Wizard X and select \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13\acroread.msi
  7. Make the change "Installation Options"  select "Make reader how def PDF", "Silently", "Prompt the user for reboot"
  8. In the section "Online And Acrobat.com features" I select all to disable.
  9. In the section "Direct Editor" select Property and EULA_ACCEPT changing from NO to YES.
  10. And click to save package.

Now in GPO I made a new deploy, select from \\srvappz\acroreader\AIP-10.13\acroread.msi and all other steps. Later the client take it the GPO and makes install silently Acrobat Reader, for me ok , but when the when the user run Acrobat this shows the EULA and stay waiting to accept, in the "Help" nothing happens, I mean, all option are visible and can be used.

Then, my question is, what  I missed?

Is something about .mst file? spanish version can't be configured?

I will appreciate any help about this problems

Thanks

Best Regard

Reader Security popup after X to XI upgrade - have tried customization wizard, reg edits, everything

Title: Adobe Reader Security

Body: Trusted certificates from your previous version of Adobe Reader were found.

Would you like to import them?

Any certificates that are not imported in this step will not be available in this version of Adobe Reader.

Buttons: [Import] [Use Default]

I've read through at least a dozen posts on many sites about this and no one has a real resolution.  Let me tell you what I've tried.  Each attempt was a clean upgrade from X to XI.

1 - First I tried the Customization Wizard, which did everything I want except get rid of this popup.

2 - Then again I went back in the Wizard and set the Directory Servers (C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security\directories.acrodata) and Trusted Identities (C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security\addressbook.acrodata) to copies of my own files on my own computer that did not get the post-install popup.

3 - I tried the same as #2, but with copies of my files from the C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Security\ folder (rather than version 11.

4 - I tried in the Wizard to add keys to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload for bAskBeforInstalling and bLoadSettingsFromURL both to 0.

5 - I tried on the cliet PC to change HKEY_USERS\clientusername\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Security\cPPKHandler\bCustomPrefsCreated to 0 prior to installation.

All of these still resulted in prompts to import the old certificates.  I'm out of ideas.

How to install Acrobat DC without any cloud features or signin?

$

HI all,

My org has about 200 Acrobat XI installs currently. We are now forced to order Acrobat DC. I need to disable all cloud services and ensure the users are never prompted for login/Adobe ID.

I created my transform through the Customization tool and chose "disable all features" under the Online Services area. I install via PowerShell, which prompts for the individual installation key and inserts it into the install command.

After installation, you still cannot run Acrobat without creating and logging in with an Adobe ID. I cannot use the "offline exception" feature because we have a different license key for each instance of Acrobat.

$key = read-host "Please enter the license key for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC:"

   $args2 = "/i AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst ISX_SERIALNUMBER=$key /qn"

    Start-Process msiexec -ArgumentList $args2

Effectively, my run command is:

msiexec /i AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst ISX_SERIALNUMBER=1234123412341234 /qn

Is there any possible way for me to install this with the same behavior as XI? We have no interest in allowing for cloud storage.

Thanks for your time.

Unable to delete temporary Z@.TMP files from user profile folder (Adobe 11.0.10 on Windows 2012 R2)

Hi Adobe, hope you can help us..

Present setup:

Windows 2012 R2 RDS Server (terminal servers)

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.10

(User profile setup, is based on standard Roaming profiles, with a standard group policy cleaning the local profile up during logoff)

Issue:

The main issue is related to the adobe reader application generates som Z@...TMP files within the users profile folder (local temp), and this files can not be deleted until the terminal server have been rebooted.. (in a terminal server/multi user environment, can the terminal servers not be reboot when users logoff, and when the users logon agin will the generates a new profile folder, eg User1.001, User.002, leaving the old folders in a mess)

Question:

At the present time, have we tried Adobe Workaround1 and Workaround2 http://blogs.adobe.com/dmcmahon/tag/acroct-ini on the present setup, but with no result, (but we can also see this description is addressed to earlier Operation Systems)..

We have also looking into Adobe´s Forum sites, where we can see issues related to the same topic but on older operation systems,

eg (Unable to delete temporary files), but we can not find answers from Adobe related to this questions dates sep14..

Q1:

Could you please help us with a workaround for the above mention windows platform (Windows 2012 R2 RDS with Adobe Reader XI or newer)

Q2:

If the present workaround1 and 2, should be supported on a Windows 2012 R2 platform, can you please help us with a more detailed description for implementing this, (eg. the present workarounds mention C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Windows that does not exist on a Windows 2012 R2 platform.

We are looking forward to hear from you,

Kind Regards

Set language of adobe reader DC to OS language with Group policy object

Hi All,

One of our customer is using multiple languages on a RDS environment, and we have a GPO in place that changes the windows server 2012R2 language setting to either English or Dutch based on 2 security groups a user can be in.

Based on this, we would like Adobe Reader DC to use the option to take over the language from the OS and open in English or Dutch.

I have tried to amend regkeys as follows in a new GPO, based on the regkeys as they are with the settings for the language in the application:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Language\current = acrord32.dll

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Language\next = acrord32.dll

But I cant seem to get it working.

I have searched the internet and that only comes back with installing the application using GPO's.

I also have used this link:

Adobe Reader 11 has landed with GPO ADM templates

I have imported the template but it is completely blank and I can't find any documentation regarding the language.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have a Windows Server 2012r2 Std which is running Remote Desktop Session services.  I have 35 users on this server and 8 of these users require Adobe Acrobat Std.  What type of licencing is required for this environment and how many cals are required.  Can I get away with just 8 or do I need to licence all users on the RDS.

Many thanks
