adobe reader 11.0.12 redistributable

I want to update Adobe Reader 11.0.09 to 11.0.12 on my Remote Desktop Servers. We have installed version 11.0.09 with an automated script. Update 11.0.12 can be downloaded as an MSP-file, but for ease of automation I want to use the same deployment method (exe-file).

I notice there is a redistributable version of 11.0.10 available. When will this be available for version 11.0.12?

Issue Deploying Adobe Reader DC

$

I use a WSUS Server with WPP to deploy 3rd party updates to our computers.https://wsuspackagepublisher.codeplex.com/

WSUS Server has been live and working for a year and WPP is fairly new. Anyways.... I'm trying to update Adobe Reader DC to the newest version which is 15.016.20039. The problem is that the ProductCode for the old version & the new version are the same. So I'm unable to use that.

I use the Transforms file and added a registry key to HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Installer

called "Version" which is a REG_SZ with 15.0.16.20039 and that will allow me to verify which version i'm on.

Unfortunately it would appear that the Version key only gets added when the software is installed without the previous version installed. I believe this is due to the fact that the older file had a MST file that did not include this registry key. (Even though I have the MST file uninstall old versions)

Anybody else running into this issue? Any help is appreciated.

Creating AIP for Acrobat DC 1502020042

I am trying to roll out Acrobat Reader 1502020042 to address this issue

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/acrobat-dc-november-03-2016.html

We are only a small company and deploy software using GPO.  Unfortunately I have not been able to create a valid installer to use.

The method I am using is to download ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1500720033/AcroRdrDC1500720033_MUI.exe and ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1502020042/AcroRdrDCUpd1502020042_MUI.m sp

I extract the base installer using the command "AcroRdrDC1500720033_MUI.exe -sfx_o'D:\AdobeRdrDC' -sfx_ne" and then apply the patch using "msiexec /a 'D:\AdobeRdrDC\AcroRead.msi' /p AcroRdrDCUpd1502020042_MUI.msp"

No errors are reported during this process but when I run the resulting msi file the install fails while copying files with the message " Error 1334.  The file 'natives_blob.bin' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'Data1.cab' ".

I have also tried the classic track and this fails with a similar error but about a drop box extension instead.

I have tried downloading AcroRdrDC1500720033_en_US.msi instead of the exe but was unable to patch it with AcroRdrDCUpd1502020042.msp I got an error saying "The upgrade patch cannot be installed ... the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program".

Please help this is driving me crazy!!

Hide/disable the attach to email/share files

Hi - Is it possible to disable or remove these for evey user? We use Adobe Reader X. I've read a few blogs saying you should use a JavaScript but the ones I've found don't work with this version. Doesn't look like they can be removed using the registry either and even AppSense can't lock them both out. The reason for doing this is that it sometimes hangs Outlook to the point where we have to kill it in task manager.

Disable "Display PDF in browser" | Acrobat, Reader XI

I understand this is the suggested method of disabling the "Display PDF in browser" is  http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html    However we would like to know if there is an API or something we can simply remove from the workstation to disable "Display PDF in browser".

  • Where is and what's the  name of the file IE loads for  "Display PDF in browser"
  • Is there a Reg Key that we can modiefy to Disable "Display PDF in browser"?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you might be able to offer.

Install Acrobat XI Pro with volume license

$

Hello,

we have bought Acrobat XI Pro (volume license account for 5 user).

The software was installed 5 times , but after the trial period, they could not be activated.

The adobe support said, we must use Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition. See Case #0210629850

We have downloaded ApplicationManagerEnterprise_3_1_all.exe and have it installed.

When running the program, there was an error. "There could be no valid installer found."

In German "Es konnte kein gueltiges Installationsprogramm gefunden werden."

We use as installer "AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.exe", as it was provided to us from the download site.

We use also a original adobe installer-CD "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro". The same error.

Please advise.

Thanks

Adobe Pro X silent install issue SCCM - Error Code 1602

$

Hi guys,

I've looked through some of the forums but was wondering if you could help out with an issue I'm having with Adobe Pro X silents installs on Windows 7 64bit machines though SCCM.

I have tested the install on my machine and its works fine so I know the packages are ok for both Adobe Pro and also the Design Standard package I created using the Deployment Tools. Although I did uninstall Adobe Pro 9 on my machine before running the package. Adobe Pro when run manually asked for Outlook and Internet Explorer to be closed down before it would install, but on the silent install it just fails. Is there any way to get round this issue?

The error message in SCCM on the machine in question in SCCM is

The program for advertisement "NWK20030" failed ("NWK00011" - "Adobe_Pro_X"). A failure exit code of 1602 was returned.
User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 1602 is considered a failure.
Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing.

The packages is rolled out to the users rather that the machines and we ideally need to keep it this way due to the set up we have. On the machine it hasnt been installed and just comes up with the 1602 error message. I will try some other machines / user accounts but I believe the same issues will come up.

Is there anything I could try to resolve this issue? I have tried a great deal of things but maybe I need a fresh mind and its a little fried!!

Thanks for your help in advance peeps...

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - Silent installer

$

Hello,

I am trying to create an installer for Adobe Acrobat 11 Pro. I have used the customization wizard to create a transform file for the install and specified it to be silent. However, it appears that windows are still opening in the background when the installer runs, which causes my department's automated installer service to close out of the install thinking the installer is "broken."

The windows appear to be "Moving ____ to recycle bin" messages, meaning the Acrobat MSI is moving the setup files rather than deleting them completely.

Is there a way to change this behavior in order to make the installer delete the files instead of moving them?

The command is currently:

if exist [file generated to determine if a prior uninstall was sucessful] (msiexec /i "[PATH]Adobe Acrobat Pro\Adobe Acrobat 11 Pro\AcroPro.msi" /qn CLIENTUILEVEL=0 TRANSFORMS=[PATH]\Adobe Acrobat Pro\Adobe Acrobat 11 Pro\AcroPro.mst" /l*v "[PATH]\adobe.log")

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Drew

Sysprep removes Adobe licensing from my golden Windows 7 image

I installed Acrobat DC and Adobe CC on Windows 7 with our custom installers. That works fine. I then sysprep /oobe /generalize the image for deployment with Clonezilla. The cloned PCs have lost their Adobe enterprise licensing. How can I work around this?

VMWare Horizon is smart enough to preserve Adobe licensing for our VDI machines, at least for Acrobat (haven't tried CC yet). Plain Windows sysprep on real PCs, not so much.
