Acrobat DC Enterprise Licensing on provisioned Citrix Terminal Server does not work

Hello,

we are trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC on a provisioned Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Farm.

Installation has been customized using the customization wizard. As described here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html

The Installation is working on the Server where the installation originally has been made. User don't get any Online Dialoges Product is activated correctly.

Since this farm is provisioned as described here:

Capture.PNG

New Server with different Hostnames start from the same Disk.

If users log on to this new Server and start Adobe Acrobat they are presented with a Dialog to Log In as if the application has not been customized or activated.

How can this Problem be resolved? Has someone encountered the same problem or even found a working solution?

Many Thanks for your support in advance

S.Moser

I want Internet Explorer to use Reader instead of Acrobat DC to view pdf's in the browser with both programs installed.

I have a very specific problem. I use a invoice program at work that requires silverlight. Silverlight is only compatible with Internet Explorer.

The program shows pdfs in the browser and for some reason it does not work well with Adobe Acrobat DC but work fine with Adobe Reader. I have both applications installed on my computer and it seems impossible to have Internet Explorer use Reader as the standard viewer when Acrobat DC also is installed. When I open the internet settings in Reader, it even points to Acrobat DC. (see picture). I've tried changing the standard program to Reader but it does not help. I've tried disabling the Adobe PDF Reader addon in IE, but that opens the pdf outside of the browser which is not a solution that works. I need Acrobat DC so uninstalling it is not an option.

Is there a file or registry entry that can be changed to have the Adobe PDF reader addon in Internet Explorer use Adobe Reader instead of Adobe Acrobat DCSkjermbilde.PNG?

Acrobat Standard/Pro 2017, evaluation of TRANSFORM (MST) during installation fails

$

Hello,

we deploy Acrobat Standard and professional as IT service provider for the public service in our environment 2017. It's about 220 clients in total. For many, the update must be made by the version XI.

The deployment is performed with SCCM 2007 on Windows 7. The package now  consists of the installation files of version 1701130051 + the current patch version 1701130099. The installation is configured with the "Acrobat Customization Wizard DC", so via MST. The classic track licensing is performed with a volume license with the option "Grant Offline Exception".

The installation in the package happens via a PowerShell script. This is the syntax of our basic installation: msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi transform = AcroStan.mst EULA_ACCEPT = YES DISABLEDESKTOPSHORTCUT = 1 /qn / l * v C:\Windows\Temp\AcroStd_2017_17.008.30051.log The next stept installs the patch.

Since a few versions, we have the problem of the initial installation was incompletely performed. It the adjustments of the MST are no longer applied apparently. For example, the licensing is not applied and the adjustment of the '"online services and features" are completely ignored. It makes it seem that the MST is completely ignored. The behaviour already exists in the basic installation.

After the first start of the installed product the licensing procedure starts. It starts with the login with the Adobe-ID. Cause we use the classic track we have no seperate user IDs.

Everything worked up to version 17011.300.70. These were the versions we have used for the update of Acrobat XI in our surrounding. Then essentially only the updates were carried out, so the installation of MSP. This does not change the licensing of the installed product.

The conversion of the remaining Acrobat XI versions we currently cannot carry out with the current behaiour.

At the moment we install the functioning version and then perform the latest update. This is a workaround and meaningful only in exceptional cases.

I've tried quite a bit. Usually, I have used the previous package and only replaced the MSP.

I downloaded the complete sources of the installation files with the version 17.008.30051 from the Adobe site and rebuild the package with it.

I've recreated the MST.

I have used the installation sources of the old package and combined with the new MST.

I have tried the installation string also without SCCM and powershell in a console.

All this does not led to success.

At the moment, I'm completely at a loss what is the cause and how I can proceed.

Acrobat not Updating from Local Update Server

I've recently setup the local Adobe Update server and can successfully update my Creative Cloud applications on this one machine, but adobe acrobat will not point to the new server, it still shows in AdobeApplicationUpdater log that it is pointing to adobes web update site.  The problem is our firewall is blocking that and it is throwing me an error.  Is there any where I can change the update URL.  I have placed the

AdobeUpdater.Overrider file in

\ProgramData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdater.Overrides

\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\UpdaterResources

because acrobat is not part of Creative Cloud do I need to play it in another location?

How to deploy Acrobat DC Pro 2017 to Workstations, Not Users?

$

We want to deploy Acrobat Pro 2017 to workstations assigned to users.

We do not want to "invite" users to create their own individual Adobe accounts and install it themselves.

However, the licensing site for Acrobat seems to be set up to assign it that way.

How do we change this so I can download the Acrobat DC Pro package to our network and push it out to workstations with SCCM as needed.

We need to have this centrally managed, not have users do their own installations.

Many users don't even have admin rights to install this on their own anyway.

Users come and go, so we do not want licenses tied to external user accounts that we have to maintain outside of our own domain.

Acrobat Pro 2017 Vs Acrobat DC Pro?

Are there separate Classic 2015 and 2017 versions of DC Pro like there are for Reader DC?

I'm trying to find and download the installation files for the Acrobat DC Pro 2017, but I can only find Acrobat Pro 2017, which I assume is the Continuous track that auto updates..

Many users don't have admin rights to install updates, so I don't know if the automatic updating in Pro 2017 will work for them.  If not, we need to disable updating and deploy the updates out via SCCM instead.

How to remove "add account" in Reader DC

$

I am testing new package deployments of Adobe Reader DC prior to releasing it.

I have used the customization tool for Adobe Reader DC to create a MST file so its a tailored install. The only thing it seems is, I can not alter or remove is the "add account" for Microsoft Share-Point.

At this time our organization does not have Share-Point and possibly not anytime soon.

How can I remove/disable that option? I would rather not spend the administrative overhead on training end user to ignore that it exists.

PDF User preferences with Roaming User Profiles

$

Hello,

We are having an issue in our environment that we haven't been able to resolve. We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 terminal servers and users are using Roaming profiles. The issue we are having is that if there is more than one PDF viewer installed on the terminal servers (Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader for example) when the user chooses a default PDF application, once they log off and back on, that default preference is lost. They once again have to select their default PDF viewer, every time they log in. If there is only one PDF application installed on the server, the setting is retained without an issue. Also, if you use a local profile, even with multiple PDF viewers installed, the default setting is retained without an issue. We've tried using GPP to set the registry key to set the default viewer, however, the value has a Deny Write value applied to it. We've also tried scripting an export and import of they key upon logoff and logon respectively, however, the same issue prevents that (the deny write value on the registry). HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.pdf\UserCh oice\Progid

We've contacted Microsoft support, and they told us this was a 3rd party issue because the only file extension with this problem is the .pdf file extension. We also setup a test environment with only roaming profiles GPO setup and were able to duplicate the issue and make sure there wasn't a GPO causing this problem. Any help or guidance you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,

How do i stop the Sign in prompt for Acrobat pro DC 2015

$

We are just after updating from Acrobat 11 to Acrobat PRO DC. Ever since the upgrade users have been complaining that they are been prompted to sign into acrobat. I have read that by using the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" that you can remove this sign-on requirement.

However i am having a problem with getting the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" as we bought the licenses via a re-seller. I do not have access to the Adobe licensing portal to get the tool.

Is this the correct way to remove this sign on requirement and if so where can i get access to the provisioning toolkit?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Reader DC - Update Error 100600

Hello,

we're deploying Adobe Reader DC though GPO (MSI form AIP).

Until now updates was disabled, now I want to enable continouus updates.

I set the necessary registry keys to enable it but updates fail stating Error 100600 "updates have been disabled by your system policy".

How ever, this occur even on a manual installation without any mst or other restrictions. Just double clicking the MSI and go through the installation.

Updates are successfull if I install from exe.

Is it possible to do an initial installation through GPO and then continue with automatic updates?

Adobe FTP Link for Customization Wizard

$

Hi Everyone,

I've seen threads on here for other people that are having this issue, but can't find anything current so I guess I have to ask. Is the FTP site still active for downloading the Adobe Customization Wizard? Every time I try to get to it I just get the Google Sad Face: I also get similar messages in other browsers.

One post did mention that the site needed to be accessed via an FTP client. That also resulted in a failure. Clonezilla returned the message: "Error: Could not connect to server"

One thing that also does happen is I get asked for a credential login (makes sense, it is FTP after all). However, Adobe doesn't mention needing any credentials on the Customization Wizard documentation. Are there credentials that need to be entered? Or, better yet, does Adobe have a link where this can be directly downloaded?

Thanks all for any help!

How to turn off "Protected View" or "Protected Mode" in version 2018.009.20050

$

I am working in an environment with about 1300 systems with a variety of adobe products being deployed one of which is the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2018.009.20050.

I was tasked with finding a way to disable Protected Mode\View as it is causing an issue with our users and their older PDFs.

Through most of my research everything points to how to do it in the gui and some antiquated registry keys for 2015 version.

After a great deal of time vested in what seems to be a dead end I am here to ask if there is a registry key I can deploy using GPO in order to turn "OFF" Protected view :Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2018.009.20050?

Something strange is that I also notice that there was supposed to be a check box for "Enable Protected mode at startup" on the Security [Enhanced] section. It seems to be removed from the 2018 version or could it be due to a customization wizard. Here is a link to what I thought it was supposed to look like with the check box in place.

http://www.ctimls.com/Support/Images/NonCTI%20Images/Adobe/AdobeAcrobatReaderDCSecurity-En hancedProtectedModeOff.jpg

Keep  in mind for mine that check box and the nomenclature is removed leaving a gap of space and then it starts off with "Protected View".

Any and all help is appreciated..
