How to patch Acrobat Standard DC

$

Trying to follow same exact steps to update Acrobat Standard DC that I've used with Acrobat Standard X and not having success. Was hoping someone could weigh in, tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I've downloaded the "base" installer (Acrobat_2015_Web_WWMUI.exe) from the Adobe Licensing website. I extract it, and am left with bunch of different files, including the AcroPro.msi file, which is version 15.006.30033 according to Orca and the Adobe Customization Wizard.

I then downloaded the latest quarterly patch (Classic Track - Acrobat2015Upd1500630094.msp) from the Adobe Downloads site.

From a command prompt, I ran the following:

msiexec /a d:\adobe\acropro.msi /update Acrobat2015Upd1500630094.msp

After a minute or so the update completes. I check the version of the AcroPro.msi file and it now reports 15.006.30094.

I deploy using Group Policy, but here is where the installation fails. There is an error message in the Windows Application log stating, "Product: Adobe Acrobat DC -- Error 1334.The file 'dropboxstorage.api' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

I remember a while back having this problem (missing files in the Data1.cab) and it being the result of my trying to apply the quarterly patch to an already patched MSI, rather than applying the quarterly patch to the base MSI file. But as far as I can tell, that's not happening here - I'm applying the patch to the base MSI.

Thoughts?

How do I disable the Adobe ID login popup

Hi,

Im installing Acrobat Standard DC in our Citrix environment. I managed to create a prov.xml file and thats placed on the imaged server.

Everythign seems to work fine, except for one thing. We dont want our employees connecting to Cloud solutions and Sharepoint I disabled all these setting with Registry settings.

These options are no longer available on the start screen, and in any of the menus.

After about 30 second of having Acrobat open Im getting a "sign in with your Adobe ID" popup, which is driving me nuts.

Is there any possibillity to disable that splash screen?

Ive found a solution here:

Disable Adobe Sign-in - Acrobat DC - Super User

but since we dont use packaging for installing, this isnt a viable solution for me.

Hello,

today we downloaded Acrobat DC with the Adobe Cloud Packager. Then we installed the Customization wizard DC and wanted to open the Acrobat.msi file.

But all we got was the error message "Wizard cannot modify the MSI package. Please browse to a valid Adobe reader or Adobe Acrobat MSI package.".

As i said its a fresh downloaded version of Acrobat and a new wizard installation. so, what is the problem ?

Thanks.

SCCM issue - "LANG_LIST has some locales which does not match with the locale of serial number"

I have a problem with the error "LANG_LIST has some locales which does not match with the locale of serial number" recurring.

I am trying to install Acrobat XI Std silently by SCCM.

I've used the Adobe Customisation Wizard to create a mst which include the volume serial number we have with our licence purchases. Note that I am in Australia. I use the command line in SCCM for the install as "msiexec /i "AcroStan.msi" TRANSFORMS="D&B_AcroStd.mst" /qn" which fails silently. If I install on a local machine using an admin command prompt and changing to /qb at the end, I get the aforementioned error.

I have a few things to try and resolve, having searched the adobe forums and other forums for the solution. The mst is only trying to install US English & I have even gone so far as to use the direct editor in the customisation wizard and change some values in the property table to resolve this. In the property table I can confirm that LANG_SEL_DEFAULT = ENU, REGIONAL_LIST = ENU, LANG_LIST = en_US, ProductLanguage = 1033

Is there a way to check the language specified for ym serial number?

Reader 10.0.0 MUI Patch Upgrade Sequence

I wanted to confirm my understanding of the Reader MUI patch sequence is correct.Lets say I have a bootstrapper installation that contains the  base version 10.0.0.  My understanding is that in order to get Reader to the most current version I need to install the 10.1.0 patch and then the 10.1.3 patch. For example 10.0.0>10.1.0>10.1.3. Are these the correct patches that need to be installed to ensure Reader is fully up to date?

Acrobat XI Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime Missing

Hi Fellow Acrobat Fans!

I tried a couple test deployments of Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.03 by GPO.

It doesn't install on a couple desktops, just unistalls old versions of Acrobat X.  Only a generic error 1274, 2 and 1603 in the eventvwr's of the Windows 7 desktops.   When I try to manually launch the .MSI file I get: Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64) Runtime Missing.

After installing Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime manually on the desktops, the GPO works.  Not sure if this related or a fluke.

I didn't see anything mentioned in the Enterprise Admin Guide except the IGNOREVC10RT switch.   Have I missed something in the Customization Wizard??   What are you folks doing to avoid this problem?  Anyone have suggestions on how to deploy Visual C++ 2010 or  ignore it?

I didn't notice this issue with our Acrobat 9 or X GPOs.

Our fleet runs 32 bit MS Office and we do not use Outlook clients (migrated to GMail) so I don't think these 'application functionality' would be important anyways.

Thanks

Rice

AcrobatUpd11009.msp patch cannot be installed

Hello all,

Another month, another Adobe patching headache! So I have read the Enterprise Administration guide many times, and I have been deploying and patching Adobe Flash,Reader and Acrobat for years now. Usually it goes smoothly, but eventually I always run into an issue. This time my problem is this:

  • Last month, I created a new Acrobat XI AIP from the bas 11.0 media. I patched this AIP to 11.0.07 (quarterly)
  • I then installed Acrobat on many clients using the command line option 'PATCH=AcrobatSecUpd11008.msp' to "chain" the OOC patch into my install, without actually applying the OOC to my AIP.
  • Today, when I try to apply the AcrobatUpd11009.msp to these same clients, I am getting the error in the log file:  "PATCH SEQUENCER: minor upgrade patch \\server\share\AcrobatUpd11009.msp is not applicable."
    • And error in GUI: "The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade".

Can someone out there tell me what I did wrong here? I believe I can uninstall 11.0.08 then run a full install of 11.0.09 from a new AIP, but that seems unnecessary.

Thanks in advance!

hi Guys.

With regards to a Adobe Reader Corperate Distribution agreement and installing Adobe reader across the LAN.

According to the help files on the "multi language" Help part of the Reader DC Customization wizard it says that a "multi/all language  Serial number can be purchased" for MUI installs,

Does anyone know how much this is and where one can be purchased from ?

Thanks

burning adobe pro file with paths to dvd

Good morning folks,

I'm attempting to burn a PDF file to disk created in Acrobat XI (ver 11.0.13), that references files in a folder on the root of the disk.  I am unable to change the file path so that when it's on a disk and given to someone else, that they are able to open the referenced file from clicking on a bookmark.  I have been able to do this in the past, but I'm thinking it may have been before we upgraded our Acrobat.

Any help would be appreciated.

Error 16!

Trying to deploy Acrobat DC Pro to 75 Windows 7 Pro 32-bit workstations.  Installation goes fine, but users are getting Error 16 messages saying to uninstall/reinstall.  I can run as administrator and fix it, but the problem comes back.  I thought I had traced it to the EULA, found 2 registry changes that were made after I ran as admin.  Still having issues with Error 16.  Seems to be a known issue, but that really doesn't help me unless there's a known fix?

We're a federal government facility, so I am limited as to what I can do in terms of granting users elevated privileges or modifying UAC in Windows.  We have been using Adobe Acrobat X Professional for a few years and have no problems with that.

If there is no fix, is Adobe similar to Microsoft in that if I own 75 Acrobat DC Pro licenses can I legally downgrade to Adobe Acrobat XI?  Assuming there's a fix for XI?

Editing a Signed Document

I just downloaded Acrobat Pro. Everything I have attempted to edit tells me it is already signed and cannot be edited. This is not the case and I want to know if there is any way to edit pdfs I have already created? I have not signed anything because I just downloaded PRO today and that was not a free option.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Thank you!!

Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.x shut-down itself

$

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.x) is shutting down 15 seconds after launch from Windows 7 Desktop in Enterprise Environment.  We started seeing the issue on a Tuesday of this week.  The day before, there were no issues or explanation for root cause.  The symptom is that Adobe Acrobat Pro XI can only stay up and running for 10 - 15 seconds; behind the scenes, it appears that the Enterprise license check fails and the results in Acrobat Pro XI aborting and closing with no message or error prompts.

  1. This is occurring with 2% of the Adobe Acrobat Pro installation base at this time.
  2. Confirmed that the issue is not related to Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Patch Level
  3. The problem was recreated with Acrobat Pro XI base version 11.0.0, version 11.0.13 and the latest version, 11.0.16.
  4. There are abnormal Adobe Acrobat Pro license activation activities:
    1. We have a volume license; the activation should not happen.  this is a primary investigation focus.
      1. We received the license and serial code in 2014.
      2. Adobe Acrobat Pro XI is running in our environment since 2015.
    2. From observation is looks as though license activation cannot recognize the license key.

serial validation error acrobat standard/pro XI

I am upgrading my enterprise to Acrobat Standard/Pro 11.0 XI. I used the customization tool XI to create mst to deploy to the enterprise. we are upgrading from 9.x and 10.x to 11.0. I can deploy and it installs correctly. However upon launch it prompts immediately for serial key. I verified serial key is exactly the same as what's on out LMS corporate site. If I manually enter the serial key I get the same result. I have searched for corresponding documentation and read the admin guide online to no avail for solution. next steps? open a case or is it a simple fix?

Regards.

Acrobat 9 "Display PDF in Browser" on IE7 crashes the browser

$

Hi,

Here's what is happening. My company purchased a few licenses for Adobe Acrobat Professional 9, and they were installed on some of the company laptops. These laptops are in a UAC controlled SOE environment, so the employees are restricted to do any updates/installations that requires rights. The Adobe Professional 9 was installed through SCCM advertisement, and the "Display PDF in Browser" option was enabled. We discovered that when we attempt to download any pdf files off the web, the browser would stop responding/hangs during the duration of the downloads (shown at the status bar of IE), and we can only kill off the process.

The current workaround is to disable the "Display PDF in Browser" and download the file directly. However, it came to some points where the pdf documents contains some dynamic links over https on the site is is residing. In which case, the pdf have to be open to view from the secured site for the dynamic link to works.

Previously with Adobe Reader 9, we face no such issue. Only after we installed Acrobat Professional 9, this issue surfaces.

We have tried uninstalling the Reader before installing the Acrobat to prevent any chances of conflicts, problem persisted.

Here are the versions of the software involved.

Adobe Reader v9.3

Adobe Acrobat Professional v9.0.0

Internet Explorer v7.0.6002.18005

I have looked through the forums for similar cases, unless I have missed the keywords, I do not see any similar cases.

Has anyone encountered similar issues? Would appreciate if you could share on what was done to circumvent this. Thank you!

I have tried to use MSIEXEC to install the AcroRead.msi via a batch file. This doesn't seem to want to install quietly without user interaction. Has anyone been able to deploy this quietly? Can someone help me out with this?
