Acrobat XI Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime Missing

$

Hi Fellow Acrobat Fans!

I tried a couple test deployments of Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.03 by GPO.

It doesn't install on a couple desktops, just unistalls old versions of Acrobat X.  Only a generic error 1274, 2 and 1603 in the eventvwr's of the Windows 7 desktops.   When I try to manually launch the .MSI file I get: Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64) Runtime Missing.

After installing Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime manually on the desktops, the GPO works.  Not sure if this related or a fluke.

I didn't see anything mentioned in the Enterprise Admin Guide except the IGNOREVC10RT switch.   Have I missed something in the Customization Wizard??   What are you folks doing to avoid this problem?  Anyone have suggestions on how to deploy Visual C++ 2010 or  ignore it?

I didn't notice this issue with our Acrobat 9 or X GPOs.

Our fleet runs 32 bit MS Office and we do not use Outlook clients (migrated to GMail) so I don't think these 'application functionality' would be important anyways.

Thanks

Rice

Acrobat Pro TLP prompts Adobe ID ?

Hi all,

I have deployed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (TLP license) on a master image RDSH2012R2 for Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 Machine Creation Services using APTEE.

At first it looked ok as I received return code 0 both times using the adobe_prkt commands but users get prompted to sign in with an Adobe ID on the cloned RDSH.

First I used the Adobe customization wizard in which I supplied the serial key and activated the offline exception and registration.

Second I followed these steps outlined in Imaged OS deployments

  1. Generated the prov.xml on a internet connected server by using this command
    adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-6589 --leid=V7{}AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress --locales=nl_NL --provfilepath=C:\Deploy
  2. Ran the installation by using this command
    msiexec /i "\\server\deploy$\Adobe Acrobat Pro DC\unpacked\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi" TRANSFORMS="\\server\deploy$\Adobe Acrobat Pro DC\unpacked\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.mst" LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP=YES /qn
  3. Copied adobe_prtk.exe and generated prov.xml to master image
  4. Created the permanent permanent activation exception by runnning command
    adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=C:\CTX\Adobe\prov.xml --stream
  5. Started Adobe Acrobat Pro once on the master image
  6. Sealed and shut down the master image to deploy the snapshot

As I am a bit new to this kind of deployment I am trying to determine if I have done everything correctly

I have been over and over the documentation but I do not understand what it is I am missing as it does not work as it should.

I would appreciate if some one could review my steps/parameters/values and point out if I did something wrong.

Regards,

Raymond

Error 1334 during install

Recently I created an installation of Adobe Acrobat 7.05. I installed Adobe Acrobat 7.0 to an Admin Install Point. Then I updated the install point with the 7.05 update. Then I used the InstallShield Tuner 7.0 for Adobe Acrobat to create an install package for Adobe Acrobat 7.05. I did this same thing with Reader and Elements and they all worked just fine. However, during the installation of Adobe Acrobat 7.05, I receive the following error: "Error 1334: The file 'AcroIF.dll' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with the package." I looked in the Data1.cab file and AcroIF.dll is not in there. However, I cannot find this file anywere. I even searched on a system that has Acrobat 7.0 installed. I tried to search for this file on the Internet and came up with no results. Has anyone seen this error before? I cannot figure out how to fix this issue.

How do i stop the Sign in prompt for Acrobat pro DC 2015

We are just after updating from Acrobat 11 to Acrobat PRO DC. Ever since the upgrade users have been complaining that they are been prompted to sign into acrobat. I have read that by using the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" that you can remove this sign-on requirement.

However i am having a problem with getting the "Adobe Provisioning Toolkit" as we bought the licenses via a re-seller. I do not have access to the Adobe licensing portal to get the tool.

Is this the correct way to remove this sign on requirement and if so where can i get access to the provisioning toolkit?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.17 & SCCM

We are trying to update our installs of Adobe Reader to version 11.0.17 using SCCM 2012. Whenever we place the .msp file in the folder, SCCM is unable to update the content of the Distribution point. If we put the 11.0.16.msp file there are no issues. Any suggestions? Is the 11.0.17.msp file corrupt in any way?

Acrobat DC crashing on Server 2012R2

$

I had Acrobat XI Std installed on a Windows 2012 R2 server running Remote Desktop Services. A user was having problems with it randomly crashing. I uninstalled it last night and installed a trial version of Acobat DC Pro as a troubleshooting step. This has already crashed at least once today. There are 3 application even log entries listed below related to the crash. The event ID 0 entry looks to be some event unknown to the Windows Event Viewer. Is there somewhere else to find info on that event?

The root of the problem looks to be with the Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable. She says that the crash happened when she was attempting to add a new page to a PDF doc. Any suggestions on troubleshooting problems related to the MSVCR120.dll?

Installing Acrobat DC standard or pro doesn't install the 64bit internet explorer plugin (acropdf64.dll). But when i install acrobat reader dc it does. The 64bits plugin is needed when enhanced protect mode of internet explorer is enabled.. When enhanced protect mode is enabled ie11 will run only in 64bits.

Reader 11.0.03 update

Hello,

we deploy Adobe Reader on approx. 60 Clients and 18 Terminalservers through GPO. This worked fine since version 10.x.

Today I was downloading AdbeRdrUpd11003.msp and try to slipstream it into our 11.0.2 AIP. It failed stating "Another version of this product is already installed..."

I was using msiexec /a <path2msi> /p <path2msp> like i did many times before.

Lastly i was able to sucesssfully slipstream the 11.0.03-msp into a newly created AIP with 11.0.0.

However, I cannot install it on any Client. The installation abort with "Another version of this product...". In the logfile i found Errorcode 1638 which does just mean the same.

Does anyone know whats the cause of this behavior resp. what i have to look for?

The relavent parts in the msi/mst seems to be OK, except the MinVersions in the upgrade table which were set to 10.0.03.

Changing the values to 11.0.02 didn't help, still the same error.

Thanks in advance

H.

How to deploy Adobe DC and prevent the "Sign in Adobe ID" at startup

I used the customization wizard to make my transform file but after the installion of Adobe DC it asks the user to log into his Adobe ID.

So I figure I'm suppose to use the Adobe CC deployment tool to make my deploymen, but how do I use the MST file with it?

App-V Office Integration add-in won't load "A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in."

$

Hello,

Has anyone managed to successfully get Office Integration working with Acrobat Pro DC - Classic Track when the application is being delivered as an App-V package (user published)?

We're attempting to, and are so far (after installing the App-V Kit on the target machines that receive this package) the error [When looking at the COM add-in's in Winword] is:

"Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in."

What's interesting is the path to the Add-in is simply "\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll" (without the quotes) .. there is no C:\program files\Adobe\Adobe 2015\ or as one might expect... particularly when you look at other plugins that do show a full path in the GUI.

We have a minimal amount of customizations applied to the acropro.msi via a transform (.mst) that was generated by the "Adobe Customization Wizard DC" application to disable updates and EULA etc... normal stuff. Otherwise we're following the instructions: App-V Deployment: Acrobat DC — Enterprise Administration Guide

The sequencer is prepared with Office 2010 as per our SOE, prior to sequencing Acrobat DC (is this required for the integrations to work?).

Acrobat appears to function just fine however it's just the office integrations that do not work and that is what our users are complaining about.

I've tried to publish the App-V package globally, which works and i receive the package, but the office integrations are still broken in the same fashion.

Somebody pls help

Client is App-V 5.0 SP3, full server infrastructure minus Reporting server I believe.

Acrobat pro X error: Cannot use this product under a guest account

We are installing acrobat pro with GP on XP systems. The install goes fine but on some users machines when they launch the program it comes back with

"Cannot use this product under a guest account". The users are admins on the system. If I uninstall acrobat pro 10 and reinstall in manually the same error happens. (note these systems had acrobat pro 9 installed, but was un-installed with the acrobat pro 10 MST)
